What To Do If All Keys Are Lost (using WDS)

NOTE: This procedure is used when all keys have been lost.

NOTE: This procedure requires at least two PATS keys (up to eight keys) with correct key cut.

1. Using the WDS Tester with the DLC cable connected to the OBD II connector (DLC II), insert the new (un-programmed) key in the ignition and turn to the ON position.
2. Select "16 PIN" then "All except those"..., press tick (check mark at right lower corner of screen). Screen shows cable hookup installation, press tick.
3. Screen displays "Operation in progress" and progress bar. Then shows "is this correct VIN #?" If so, press yes. Enter R.O. and miles and press tick. Or to skip R.O. and miles entry, just press tick.
4. Screen shows "Vehicle Specifications". Let hard drive quit flashing.
5. Now select: "Toolbox", then "Body", then "Security", then "PATS". Press tick.
Make sure ignition is ON, press tick. Screen now shows PATS System Type "E" and information about this type PATS system (i.e. min number of keys, max number of keys, etc). Press tick.
6. Screen displays "This procedure will take 10 minutes. Do you wish to continue?". Press YES.
You must now wait 10 minutes to gain security access. Screen shows progress bar. When 10 minutes have completed, screen displays "operation successful". Press tick.
7. Screen displays "security access granted". Press tick.
8. Select "IGN KEY CODE ERASE". Press tick. Screen displays "Warning, you will need 2 keys to start the vehicle. Do you wish to continue?". Press YES. Screen displays progress bar and then "Operation successful". Press tick.
9. Screen displays "All known keys have been erased. You must now program a minimum of 2 keys". Screen displays key programming instructions. Press the "Return to previous screen" icon (looks like arrow going in a circle located middle of screen on right side). keep pressing until you return back to menu screen for "PATS KEY PROGRAMMING".
10. Select "Program additional ignition key". Press tick. Screen displays "Operation successful" (this is to make sure additional keys may be programmed). Press tick again.
11. Screen displays "Place un-programmed PATS key into ignition, Turn key to ON position". Press tick.
12. Screen displays "Operation successful. Do you wish to program another key? Yes or No?". Select NO.
13. Now select "EXIT". Press tick.
14. Turn OFF ignition, disconnect WDS DLC cable. Wait 10 seconds for security light to begin its normal flashing mode.
15. Now cycle key ON for 20 seconds then cycle key OFF. Cycle key ON for three seconds then turn key OFF and remove.
16. Insert second key into ignition and cycle key ON for three seconds (security light should light steadily for three seconds and go out) and start vehicle. Remove second key.

17. Insert first key into ignition, cycle key ON (security light should light steadily for three seconds and go out) and start vehicle. Now two keys are programmed.
