To Program Additional Key With WDS Tester
To Program Additional Key With WDS Tester (if only one programmed key is available)NOTE: This is used when the customer needs additional key(s) programmed and does not have two programmed keys available during key programming.
NOTE: This procedure requires one un-programmed PATS key with correct key cut.
1. Using the WDS Tester with the DLC cable connected to the OBD II connector (DLC II), insert the new (un-programmed) key in the ignition and turn to the ON position.
2. Select "16 PIN" then "All except those" press tick (check mark at right lower corner of screen). Screen shows cable hookup installation, press tick.
3. Screen displays "Operation in progress' and progress bar. Then shows "is this correct VIN #?" If so, press yes. Enter R.O. and miles and press tick. Or to skip R.O. and miles entry, just press tick.
4. Screen shows "Vehicle Specifications". Let hard drive quit flashing.
5. Now select: "Toolbox", then "Body", then "Security", then "PATS". Press tick.
Make sure ignition is ON, press tick. Screen now shows PATS System Type "E" and information about this type PATS system (i.e. min number of keys, max number of keys, etc). Press tick.
6. Screen displays "This procedure will take 10 minutes. Do you wish to continue?". Press YES. You must now wait 10 minutes to gain security access. Screen shows progress bar. When 10 minutes have completed, screen displays "operation successful". Press tick.
7. Screen displays "security access granted". Press tick.
8. Turn key OFF. Disconnect WDS from OBD II connector.
9. Turn key to ON (security light should be on steadily. If rapidly flashing, turn key OFF, then turn key ON again. Security light should be on steadily) then start the engine. If engine starts, key is programmed.
NOTE: If no start again and security light is rapidly flashing, remove un-programmed key and insert the already programmed key into the ignition and turn ON. Security light will flash rapidly (indicating anti-scan mode) for about 60-65 seconds, then the security light will go off. Now turn key OFF Then start vehicle and security light should go off after three seconds. Turn key OFF and remove. Wait approximately 10 seconds for security light to begin its normal mode flashing of once every two seconds. Let it flash for 10-12 flashes, Now begin process from step one again. Don't rush or key programming may not work properly.
10. After completing key programming you now have two programmed keys. Program additional keys by following "To Program keys Without WDS or WDS Tester". Refer to KEY PROGRAMMING USING TWO PROGRAMMED KEYS.
