Key Programming Using Two Programmed Keys
KEY PROGRAMMING USING TWO PROGRAMMED KEYSTo Program Keys Without WDS or WDS Tester
NOTE: This procedure requires two previously programmed keys and at least one un-programmed PATS key with correct key cut.
NOTE: If this procedure tails to work, SPAREKEY PID may be set in the wrong position (should show DISABLED it viewing PID with NGS and 9.0 Ver card - WDS does not have SPAREKEY PID available).
NOTE: The following procedure must be performed in less than 20 seconds from the time the first key is turned to the ON position until the third or un-programmed key is turned to the ON position or the programming mode will not be entered.
1. Insert the first previously programmed key into the ignition and turn ignition from OFF to ON (maintain ignition ON for at least three seconds until the security light goes out).
2. Turn ignition OFF and remove the first key.
3. Within 5 seconds of turning ignition OFF insert the second previously programmed PATS key into ignition and turn from OFF to ON (maintain ignition ON for at least three seconds until security light goes out).
4. Turn ignition OFF and remove second key from ignition.
5. Within 10 seconds of turning ignition to OFF, insert un-programmed PATS key into ignition and turn from OFF to ON (maintain ignition ON for at least three seconds until security light goes out). Then turn key and the start the vehicle. New key is now programmed.
6. To program additional keys, repeat procedure from step one. Wait until security light resumes normal flashing every second before beginning next programming sequence (let it flash 10-12 times before beginning again). Do not try to rush this or programming may not work correctly.
NOTE: If key programming is successful, after turning key to ON position, theft indicator will light for three seconds and go off. Verify all keys start vehicle. If any key fails to program, wait until anti-scan mode is over (let security light begin its normal flashing [one flash per second] mode). Let it flash 10-12 times then perform key programming procedure again.
To Erase Additional Keys Using Only Two Programmed Keys
NOTE: With two programmed keys, it is possible to rease the codes for all OTHER additional keys to make them unusable (i.e. after they have been lost).
Erasure procedure:
1. Follow steps 1-4 as described above.
2. After second key, insert the first key AGAIN and switch ignition to ON.
3. The security light will flash rapidly for five seconds.
4. All key codes BUT the two keys used in this procedure have been erased and will not start the vehicle.
NOTE: If the ignition is switched OFF before the five second period (described in step three) has completed, the erasure procedure is cancelled and NO key codes are erased.
NOTE: All keys erased may again be reprogrammed by following the programming procedure.
