ENGINE-MANUAL TRANSAXLE

Installation





1. Install the transaxle on the engine and install the bolts.





2. Install the bolts.





3. Install the starter.





4. Install the wire harness.
(1) Attach the wire harness to the engine/transaxle assembly.
(2) Connect the differential pressure feedback exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) sensor.





5. Connect the reversing lamp switch electrical connector.





6. Connect the ground wire.





7. Connect the powertrain control module (PCM) wire harness to the bracket.





8. Connect the fuel charging wiring harness electrical connector.





9. Connect the park neutral position (PNP) switch electrical connector and ground wire.





10. Connect the vehicle speed sensor electrical connector.





11. Connect the electrical connectors.
^ Connect the knock sensor electrical connector.
^ Connect the oil pressure sender electrical connector. Connect the starter electrical connector.





12. Connect the generator electrical connectors.
13. Position the engine/transaxle assembly into the vehicle.





14. Install the LH transaxle mount.





15. Install the engine mount upper bracket.





16. Connect the ground wire.





17. Install the rear transaxle mount.
18. Remove the lifting device.





19. Install the cruise control unit (if equipped).





20. Position the power steering pump and loosely install the upper bolts.





21. Install the power steering line bracket bolt.





22. Install the power steering line bracket bolt.





23. Position the slave cylinder line and install the clip.





24. Install the clutch slave cylinder bolts.





25. Position the power steering lines and install the bolts.
26. Raise and support the vehicle.





27. Install the lower power steering bolts.





28. Connect the lower radiator hose.





29. Install the engine to transaxle bolts.





30. Install the front transaxle mount through bolt.





31. If equipped, connect the block heater electrical connector.





32. Connect the shifter linkages.
33. Install the halfshafts.
34. Install the A/C compressor.





35. Connect the coolant hose.
36. Install the catalytic convertor.





37. Connect the heater hoses.





38. Connect the coolant hose.





39. Tighten the upper power steering pump bolts.





40. Connect the upper radiator hose.





41. Connect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister vacuum lines.





42. Connect the power distribution box electrical connections.





43. Connect the wire harness electrical connector.





44. Connect the ground wire.





45. Connect the powertrain control module (PCM) wire harness and ground.





46. Connect the brake booster vacuum supply hose to the intake manifold.





47. Connect the EGR vacuum regulator valve.
^ Connect the electrical connector.
^ Connect the vacuum hoses





48. Connect the throttle cables and cruise control cable (if equipped).





49. Connect the fuel line.
50. Install the battery tray.
51. Install the air cleaner assembly.
52. Fill the engine with SAE 5W-20 Motor Oil.
3. fill and bleed the engine cooling system.
54. Charge the A/C system.
55. Install the hood
