Some vehicles may be equipped with a battery eye (A) located on the top of the vehicle's battery. The battery eye color simply indicates the state-of-charge of the battery, not its condition. Even if the battery eye is red, the battery can be recovered through proper testing and charging procedures (Refer to TSB 01-009/10 "BATTERY MAINTENANCE").

Do not replace a battery based solely on the indication (color) of the battery eye, attempt to recover the battery. If the battery is replaced under warranty based on the mis-diagnosis of the battery condition, your dealer may be debited.
