Overdrive Switch: Testing and Inspection

O/D OFF SWITCH INSPECTION
Inspection of Operation
1. Turn the ignition switch from OFF to ON position.
2. Verify that the O/D OFF indicator light is not illuminated. Press the O/D OFF switch and verify that the O/D OFF indicator light illuminates.
^ If not as specified, inspect the terminal voltage of the O/D OFF switch.

Inspection of Voltage
1. Turn the ignition switch at ON position.





2. Measure the voltage at the O/D OFF switch connector.





^ If not as specified, inspect for continuity at the O/D OFF switch.

Inspection of Continuity



1. Disconnect the O/D OFF switch connector.





2. Inspect continuity at the O/D OFF switch.
^ If the switch is okay, inspect the wiring harness. (O/D OFF switch-PCM, O/D OFF switch-Body ground)
^ If not as specified, replace the selector lever component.
