Transfer Case Shift Motor Encoder Assembly Removal / Installation

TRANSFER CASE SHIFT MOTOR ENCODER ASSEMBLY REMOVAL / INSTALLATION





1. Set the mode select switch to the 4X4 HIGH position.





2. Raise and support the vehicle.





3. Disconnect the gear motor encoder assembly harness connector.
4. Remove the bracket bolt and the gear motor encoder assembly mounting bolts and remove the gear motor encoder assembly.
5. Remove the grease from the motor adaptor and check for any nicks or burrs. If any damage is found, repair or install a new gear motor encoder assembly as necessary.
6. Install in reverse order of removal.
1) Apply a coat of multipurpose grease to the gear motor encoder assembly.
