Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair

HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (H02S) AND CATALYST MONITOR SENSOR

Removal and Installation
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. See BATTERY DISCONNECT.
2. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position on a hoist. See LIFTING.
3. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor (H02S) and the catalyst monitor sensor electrical connector.

NOTE: If necessary, lubricate the H02S and catalyst monitor sensor with Penetrating and Lock Lubricant to aid in removal.




4. Using the special tool, remove the H02S and the catalyst monitor sensor.

NOTE: Apply a light coat of High Temperature Nickel Anti-Seize Lubricant to the threads of the H02S and the catalyst monitor sensor to aid in installation.

5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
