Ignition Lock: Service and Repair

STEERING LOCK MODULE

Removal
1. Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder.





2. Remove the upper steering column shroud.





3. Remove the lower steering column shroud.
1. Remove the screws.
2. Remove the lower steering column shroud.

Note: Clean all metal shavings and debris after cutting slots in the steering lock module bolts.





4. Cut slots into the heads of the shear-off bolts to remove.
^ Discard the shear-off bolts.

Installation
1. Align the ribs on the steering lock module with the window of the steering column tube.
2. Align the locating pin with the slot on the locating bracket of the steering column.
3. Tighten the bolts until the head of the bolt shears off.
