Pinpoint Test 1

PINPOINT TEST 1: THE TURN SIGNAL LAMPS ARE NEVER ON

Step 1 - 3:

Step 4 - 5:

Normal Operation
The SJB sends reference signals to the multifunction switch through circuits (LB/R) (LH turn input) and (LG/O) (RH turn input). When the multifunction switch is switched to the LH or RH turn positions, the voltage signal is routed to ground through circuit (B/W). When the SJB detects the multifunction switch is in the LH or RH turn position, the SJB sends voltage to the appropriate turn lamps.

All the turn lamps are individually wired to the SJB. The timed on/off cycle is determined in the SJB and is set to flash approximately 80 times per minute if both the front and rear turn lamps operate correctly. If only one turn signal lamp operates, the SJB will flash approximately 160 times per minute.

Possible Causes
- circuit (LB/R) open
- circuit (LG/O) open
- circuit (B/W) open
- multifunction switch
