Idle Speed/Throttle Actuator - Electronic: Service and Repair

IDLE AIR CONTROL (IAC) VALVE - 2.3L

Removal and Installation

1. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.
2. Remove the upper snow shield.
- Remove the upper snow shield-to-intake manifold screw.
- Remove the upper snow shield-to-intake manifold pin-type retainer.




3. Remove the lower snow shield.
- Remove the lower snow shield-to-intake manifold screws (2 req'd).

4. Disconnect the idle air control (IAC) valve electrical connector.
5. Remove the two bolts and the IAC valve.
- Discard the gasket.

6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install a new gasket.
