MODELS WITHOUT ADVANCED KEYLESS SYSTEM

NOTE:
^ The following procedures are written for MMDS-IDS only. MMDS-PDS will be similar.

^ PDS does not support Module Configuration Programming (MCP) on all models. It is recommended to use IDS when performing this procedure.

^ If IDS/PDS cannot retrieve configuration data from the old odometer, a screen will automatically appear that requires As-built data. However, configuration using the As-Built data cannot transfer old odometer data to a new odometer.

^ Before starting, make sure you have all customer ignition keys since they will need to be reprogrammed to start the vehicle. A minimum of two keys are required to start vehicle.

1. Connect IDS to the vehicle.

2. Select IDS icon (from desktop).

3. Select "START NEW SESSION". Press tick (check mark box located at lower right of screen).

4. Turn ignition switch ON (do not start engine).

5. Press tick. IDS now establishes communication to PCM.

6. "Vehicle specifications" will be shown. Select YES.

7. Screen will display "Is vehicle equipped with DSC?" Select YES or NO depending on vehicle then press tick.

8. Confirm VIN is correct for vehicle being serviced. Press tick.

9. Screen shows "Vehicle Specification". Select TOOLBOX, then "MODULE PROGRAMMING". Press tick.

10. Select "PROGRAMMABLE MODULE INSTALLATION".

11. Select "IC" from the choices. Press tick.

12. Screen displays the following information:

- If the new HEC has an odometer setting of at least 100km (63 miles), the diagnostic tester is not able to copy the odometer data from the old HEC to the new HEC.

^ If you want to copy the odometer data from the old HEC to the new HEC, you need to do the "Programmable Parameters > Odometer Write" function after completing the HEC configuration procedure. Please do not delete this session until after you complete the write procedure.

Note:
If the diagnostic tester cannot read the configuration data from the old HEC, the diagnostic tester is not able to copy the odometer data to the new HEC even if you do the Odometer Write function. Review then press tick.

13. This screen displays "Set ignition switch to OFF (Position 0)". Press tick.

NOTE:
^ DO NOT turn off or disconnect IDS from vehicle when replacing instrument cluster.

14. This screen displays "Install a new module in vehicle". Remove old instrument cluster following appropriate Workshop Manual procedure. Install the new instrument cluster unit to the vehicle.

15. When done installing new instrument cluster, press tick.

16. This screen displays "Set ignition switch to ON (Position II)". Press tick.

17. Please wait while configuration is performed. When done, screen displays "IC Module Configuration Complete". Press tick.

18. This screen displays "Set ignition switch to OFF (Position 0)". Press tick.

19. Screen displays the following information:

- If you want to copy the odometer data from the old HEC to the new HEC, you need to do the "Programmable Parameters > Odometer Write" function after completing the HEC configuration procedure. Please do not delete this session until after you complete the write procedure.

Review then press tick.
