SQUEAKING NOISE FROM SEAT BACK DUE TO FRAME AND SEAT BACK PAD CONTACT

DESCRIPTION





Some vehicles may exhibit a squeaking noise coming from the front seats (A). This noise may be cause by contact between the seat frame and the urethane seat back pad (B).

Customers having these concerns should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Verify customer complaint.

2. Remove headrest.

3. Remove the seat trim and seat back pad according to 2010 Mazda3 MS3 online instructions or Workshop Manual (section 09-13 FRONT SEAT BACK TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION).

4. Install silencer material (C) over frame (in between seat frame and seat back pad (B)).





5. Trim off any excess silencer material sticking out from the seat.

6. Reinstall the seat back pad and seat trim according to 2010 Mazda3 MS3 online instructions or Workshop Manual (section 09-13 FRONT SEAT BACK TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION).

7. Reinstall headrest.

8. Verify repair.
