MIL ILLUMINATION WITH DTC P0463 OR DTC B1202 WITH NO MIL ILLUMINATION

DESCRIPTION

Some vehicles may experience MIL illumination with DTC P0463 or B1202 with no MIL illumination. This may be caused by foreign material on the fuel tank sub-gauge contact point causing poor electrical contact.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

ATTENTION:
PRIOR TO PRE-DELIVERY INSPECTION, THIS REPAIR PROCEDURE MUST BE PERFORMED ON ALL 2007 CX-7 VEHICLES IN DEALER INVENTORY.

1. Prior to Pre-Delivery Inspection, the fuel tank must be filled with a minimum of 91 octane fuel.

NOTE:
Dealers will recover fuel cost through the monthly gas reimbursement program. The reimbursement appears as a credit on the Dealer parts statement and appears within the same month or the following month that the vehicle is sold to the Dealer.





2. Remove fuse panel cover located on lower driver side dash and install the 15A room fuse (found in center console) into position # 56.

3. Connect M-MDS to the DLC 16-pin connector and implement SELF-TEST and ALL CMDTC's procedures.

^ If there are no DTCs, pending codes, or past trouble codes, record the VIN for later warranty claim submission and return vehicle to dealer inventory.

^ If DTCs are stored in PCM memory, record the DTCS and VIN for later warranty claim submission.

a. If DTCs are P0463 or B1202, clear codes.

b. If DTCs are other than P0463 or B1202, troubleshoot according to the Workshop Manual.

4. After clearing all DTCs with M-MDS, turn ignition OFF and start engine twice, then repeat ALL CMDTC's procedure again to confirm all DTCs are erased.

^ If there are no DTCs, pending codes, or past trouble codes, return vehicle to dealer inventory.

^ If DTCs are stored in PCM memory, troubleshoot according to the Workshop Manual.

^ DO NOT SUBMIT A WARRANTY CLAIM FOR FUEL REIMBURSEMENT.
Warranty does not pay for fuel reimbursement.
