Attachment II - Repair Procedure
A. VEHICLE INSPECTION PROCEDURE1. Verify that the vehicle is within the following range:
^ 2007 CX-7 VIN Range: (JM3 ER29** 70 147286 - 154189) built from October 19, 2006 through December 5, 2006
- If the vehicle is within the above range, proceed to STEP 2.
- If the vehicle is not within the above range, return the vehicle to the customer or inventory.
2. Perform a Warranty Vehicle Inquiry using your eMDCS System and inspect vehicle for Campaign Label SSP70 attached to the vehicle's hood. Refer to eMDCS System - Warranty Vehicle Inquiry Results table below.
NOTE:
Verify SSP number as the vehicle may have multiple SSPs.

B. REPAIR PROCEDURE
REMOVAL PROCEDURE OF PARKING BRAKE PEDAL
1. Remove fastener.
2. Remove driver's side lower panel undercover by pulling clips for undercover fitting downward.
NOTE:
A part of the undercover is overlapped with the center console. When removing the undercover, pull out the overlapped part and confirm that the part does not interfere with the center console. Be careful not to damage the center console.
3. Remove coupler for parking brake switch.
4. Remove console adjusting nut and front parking brake cable.
5. Fit square part of front parking brake cable in parking brake pedal assembly and loosen adjusting nut.
6. Remove parking brake cable housing nut and three (3) bracket assembly nuts, then remove parking brake cable assembly.
NOTE:
^ When removing the front parking brake cable from the parking brake pedal assembly, make certain to loosen the housing nut completely and pull out the front parking brake cable. This is to prevent the outer cable from damage or tearing. If the cable housing is damaged or torn, replace the front parking brake cable.
^ Do not push or turn the inner cable in the cable housing. The front cable may disconnect from the rear cables at the equalizer joint underneath the vehicle.
7. Confirm there is no damage or flaws to the cable inner wire.
NOTE:
^ Be sure the cable has no damage or breakage, and the inner wire of the cable is not exposed.
^ If the inner wire of the cable is damaged/flawed, replace it. Refer to Removal Procedure of Front Parking Brake Cable".
^ If the inner wire of the cable is not damaged/flawed, proceed to Installation Procedure of Parking Brake Pedal".
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE OF PARKING BRAKE PEDAL
1. Install front parking brake cable to parking brake pedal assembly.
NOTE:
^ Install the front parking brake cable along the groove of the parking brake pedal assembly.
^ Insert the tip of the front parking brake cable and the square part in the hole for the front parking brake cable until the tip of the front parking brake cable comes out of the hole.
^ Temporarily tighten the nut.
^ When installing the front parking brake cable, be sure that the cable goes under the bracket for cable on the parking brake pedal assembly.
^ Be sure that the cable has no damage or breakage, and the inner wire of the cable is not exposed.
^ Be sure that the square part is completely fitted. If not, the nut for brake stroke adjustment cannot be tightened properly.
^ When installing the front parking brake cable, do not push or turn the inner cable in the cable housing. This is to prevent the front parking brake cable from disconnecting from the rear parking brake cable assembly.
2. Retighten nut for front parking brake cable housing on parking brake pedal assembly. Tightening Torque: 18.6 - 25.5 Nm (1.90 - 2.60 kgf-m, 13.8 - 18.8 ft-lbf)
3. Install parking brake pedal assembly and bracket for undercover tightening.
NOTE:
When installing the bracket, be careful with the positioning.
4. Retighten three (3) nuts.
Tightening Torque: 18.6 - 25.5 Nm (1.90 - 2.60 kgf-m, 13.8 - 18.8 ft-lbf)
5. Reinstall coupler for parking brake switch.
6. Reinstall inner cable adjusting nut.
7. Turn adjusting nut to have a 35 mm protruded end.
8. Confirm parking brake stroke is within specification.
Adjust cable tension if necessary.
Parking brake stroke when depressed 180N: 1 - 3 notches
9. Turn ignition switch on, depress parking brake pedal one notch, and verify brake system warning light illuminates in dash.
10. Release parking brake and verify rear brakes do not drag.
11. Reinstall driver's side lower panel cover.
NOTE:
Be very careful not to damage the center console while installing the undercover.
REMOVAL PROCEDURE OF FRONT PARKING BRAKE CABLE
1. Record customer's pre-set radio stations.
2. With transmission in neutral, safely position vehicle on hoist and raise.
3. Remove four (4) bolts holding parking brake equalizer shield; remove shield.
4. Remove parking brake cable equalizer and adjustment nut and disconnect front cable from parking brake equalizer joint.
5. Lower vehicle and remove center console panel.
a. Detach clips A from console using a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver.
b. Remove pin B and tab C.
c. Remove pin D.
d. Remove console panel trim pieces.
6. Remove console shifter cover.
a. Pull panel upward and detach clips A, B, and tab C.
b. Remove panel.
c. Remove console side covers.
d. Remove fasteners and screws located on side and inner console points.
e. Disconnect negative battery cable.
f. Disconnect accessory socket connector.
g. Disconnect seat warmer switch connectors (if applicable).
h. Remove center console assembly.
7. Remove center console assembly rear bracket.
8. Turn floor covering over until front parking brake cable anchor end appears.
9. Remove SAS sensor mounting bracket with module and connectors.
10. Remove all nuts and front parking brake cable.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE OF FRONT PARKING BRAKE CABLE
1. Install in reverse order of removal.
2. Re-enter customer's pre-set radio stations.
3. Perform C. Power Window Initialization Procedure".
C. POWER WINDOW INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE
1. Turn ignition to ON position.
2. From driver's seat ensure window lockout switch is NOT depressed.
3. Press window switch down to fully open door window.
4. Pull window switch up to fully close door window; hold switch up for two (2) seconds; release switch.
5. Move to front passenger seat and repeat Steps 3 - 4 on passenger window switch.
6. Verify proper window operation using each door switch.
7. Proceed to D. CAMPAIGN LABEL INSTALLATION".
D. CAMPAIGN LABEL INSTALLATION
Complete a "Campaign Label" with the SSP70 written on the sticker and affix it to the vehicle's hood. Refer to the illustration under "A". VEHICLE INSPECTION PROCEDURE".
