Pinpoint Test 2

PINPOINT TEST 2: THE INTERIOR LAMP STAYS ON CONTINUOUSLY

Normal Operation

NOTE: The smart junction box (SJB) is also known as the generic electronic module (GEM).

When any door is opened, the door ajar switch closes, signalling the SJB/GEM. The SJB/GEM monitors the door ajar circuits, and the instrument panel dimmer switch input. Based on these inputs, the SJB/GEM will supply voltage to the interior lamp on circuit (G/L).
- DTC B1322 (Driver Door Ajar Circuit Short to Ground) - is an on-demand DTC that sets when the SJB/GEM detects a short to ground from the LH front door ajar circuit.
- DTC B1330 (Passenger Door Ajar Circuit Short to Ground) - is an on-demand DTC that sets when the SJB/GEM detects a short to ground from the RH front door ajar circuit.
- DTC B1338 (Door Ajar RR Circuit Short to Ground) - is an on-demand DTC that sets when the SJB/GEM detects a short to ground from the RH rear door ajar circuit.
- DTC B1574 (Door Ajar LR Circuit Short to Ground) - is an on-demand DTC that sets when the SJB/GEM detects a short to ground from the LH rear door ajar circuit.
- DTC B1688 (Lamp Dome Input Circuit Short to Ground) - is an on-demand DTC that sets when the SJB/GEM detects a short to ground from the dimmer switch circuit.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Instrument panel dimmer switch
- Four wheel drive (4x4) control module
- Instrument cluster
- Door ajar switch
- SJB
