Differential Mount: Service and Repair

AXLE HOUSING BUSHING REMOVAL / INSTALLATION

Removal Note

Note:
- Axle tube bushing removal shown, axle housing bushing is a similar procedure.

1. Remove the front axle assembly.
2. Position the tube bushing removal or equivalent tools.
(1) Position Bushing Remover/Replacer Cup SST (205-371) or equivalent.
(2) Position Draw-bolt SST (205-374) or equivalent.
(3) Thread the Bushing Remover Adapter SST (205-376) on the Draw-bolt SST (205-374).





3. Tighten the Draw-bolt SST (205-374) to remove the bushing.





Installation Note

- Axle tube bushing installation shown, axle housing bushing is a similar procedure.

1. Position the bushing and the tube bushing installation or equivalent tools.
(1) Position the bushing.
(2) Position Gauge Ring SST (204-206).
(3) Position Bushing Replacer Collet SST (205-372).
(4) Position Bushing Remover/Replacer Cup SST (205-371).
(5) Position Drawbolt SST (205-374).
(6) Thread Bushing Replacer Adapter SST (205370) on the Drawbolt SST (205-374).





2. Tighten the Drawbolt SST (205-374) to install the bushing.
- Remove the tools.
3. Install the front axle assembly.
4. Check the fluid level and fill the axle to specification.
- Use axle lubricant meeting specification API Service GI-5
5. Lower the vehicle.
