GENERATOR REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - 4.0L

Removal and Installation






1. Disconnect the battery.(See Battery Disconnect)
2. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe.
3. Rotate the front end accessory drive belt tensioner counterclockwise and position the accessory drive belt aside.
4. Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the generator.
5. Position the protective cover aside, remove the nut and position the generator B+ terminal aside. Tightening Torque 8 Nm {O.8 kgf-m, 71 in-lb}
6. Remove the 2 bolts from the generator. Tightening Torque 47 Nm {4.8 kgf-m 35 ft-Ib}
7. Remove the stud bolt, position the generator harness bracket aside and remove the generator. Tightening Torque 47 Nm {4.8 kgf-m 35 ft-lb}
8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
