Pinpoint Test 7: The Doors Do Not Lock/Unlock Using the Remote Keyless Entry Transmitter

PINPOINT TEST 7: THE DOORS DO NOT LOCK/UNLOCK USING THE REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY TRANSMITTER

Normal Operation
Remote locking and unlocking of the doors is accomplished by the smart junction box (SJB) receiving a command message from an integrated keyhead transmitter (IKT). The SJB energizes the appropriate relays to lock or unlock the doors.
- DTC B1138 (Memory Full) - is a continuous DTC that sets when the SJB cannot store any more IKT transmitter identification codes (TICs) because all 4 IKT memory locations are full.
- DTC B1139 (Invalid Transmitter Identification Code) - is a continuous DTC that sets when the SJB detects that an IKT is attempting to be programmed with a TIC that does not begin with CO or DO.
- DTC B2276 (Less then 2 transmitters programmed) - is a continuous DTC that sets any time the SJB detects that less than 2 IKTs/remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitters are programmed.

Possible Causes
- IKT battery
- IKT programming
- IKT
- Instrument cluster
- SJB

Diagnostic Procedure

NOTE:
- All IKTs must be present to begin diagnosis of the RKE system.
- Aftermarket or dealer-installed systems may adversely affect the RKE system operation. These systems should be disconnected before diagnosing any RKE concerns.
