Mirrors: Description and Operation
REAR VIEW MIRRORSSee the Tribute Wiring Diagram for schematic information.
Principles of Operation
Exterior Rear View Mirror
The exterior rear view mirrors allow the driver or passenger mirror to be electronically or manually adjusted. The positions of the mirrors are controlled by the exterior mirror control switch. Adjusting the exterior mirror control switch to the LH or RH position determines which exterior rear view mirror is controlled. The exterior rear view mirrors are available with a heated option.
Heated Exterior Rear View Mirror
The exterior rear view mirrors may be equipped with a heated mirror glass option. The heated exterior rear view mirror feature only functions when the rear window defrost is operating. There is no separate control for heated exterior rear view mirrors. The heated exterior rear view mirror power is supplied by the rear defrost relay through a separate battery junction box (BJB) fuse 1 (15 A) that isolates the heated mirrors from the rear window defrost in the event of a concern. The heated exterior rear view mirrors are heated for a period of 15 minutes when the rear window defrost switch is activated.
