Removal

WARNING:
- Always wear safety glasses when repairing an air bag supplemental restraint system (SRS) vehicle and when handling an air bag module. This will reduce the risk of injury in the event of an accidental deployment.
- The safety belt pretensioner is a pyrotechnic device. Always wear safety glasses when repairing an air bag equipped vehicle and when handling a safety belt buckle pretensioner or safety belt retractor pretensioner. Never probe a pretensioner electrical connector. Doing so could result in pretensioner or air bag deployment and could result in serious personal injury.
- To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, do not use any memory saver devices.

NOTE:
- The air bag warning indicator illuminates when the restraints control module (RCM) fuse is removed and the ignition switch is ON. This is normal operation and does not indicate a supplemental restraint system (SRS) fault.
- The supplemental restraint system (SRS) must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.

1. Position the front seat rearward and remove the 2 seat-to-floor front bolts.
2. Position the front seat forward and depower the supplemental restraint system (SRS).
3. Remove the 2 seat-to-floor rear nut covers and 2 rear nuts.
4. Disconnect the seat harness electrical connector(s) and remove the seat.
- For the passenger seat, release the pin-type retainer and detach the wiring harness.

- The seat-to-floor fasteners must be tightened in the sequence described in this procedure.
- The front passenger seat uses different seat-to-floor mounting bolts then the driver seat. Make sure the correct bolts are used when mounting the front passenger seat.
