PINPOINT TEST 5: THE COURTESY LAMPS DO NOT TURN ON WITH THE LIFTGATE OR THE LIFTGATE GLASS OPEN

Normal Operation
When the liftgate or the liftgate glass is opened, the ajar switch opens the circuit to the smart junction box (SJB). The SJB monitors the ajar circuits, and based on the ajar status, the SJB supplies voltage to the courtesy lamps on circuit (GY/V).

Possible Causes
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Liftgate ajar switch (part of the liftgate latch)
- liftgate glass ajar switch (part of the liftgate glass latch)
- SJB

Diagnostic Procedure

CAUTION: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.

NOTE: Make sure the interior lamp switches are in the DOOR position.
