PINPOINT TEST 8: DTCs U2060 AND U2062 - ECU REDUNDANT POWER CIRCUIT OR GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN - HYBRID

Normal Operation

The voltage required for correct ABS operation is 10-18 volts. Fused battery voltage is supplied to the ABS control module from battery junction box (BJB) fuse 6 (5A) along circuit (BR/R), BJB fuse 9 (50A) along circuit (R) and BJB fuse 18 (50A) along circuit (Y/R). Fused ignition voltage is supplied to the ABS control module from smart junction box (SJB) fuse 34 (5A) along circuit (V/BR). Ground is provided along circuit (B/Y) and circuit (B/V).
The ABS control module has 4 circuits for voltage supply. One is for the pump motor, one is for the hydraulic control unit (HCU) valves and the last 2 are for the ABS control module itself. If the ABS control module voltage circuit is faulted (open, shorted, etc.), then the ABS control module will use the HCU valve voltage input as a backup voltage supply. However, the valve circuit is not as clean as the ignition circuit and this causes interference in the ABS control module and may result in incorrect ABS operation.
The ABS control module has 2 separate grounds, one for the pump motor and one for the HCU valves. If one of the grounds is faulted (open, shorted, etc.) then the ABS control module uses one ground for both items. However, using one ground circuit for both items causes interference in the system and may result in incorrect ABS operation.

- DTC U2060 (ECU Redundant Power Circuit Open) - Anytime the ignition key is in the RUN position, if the ABS control module detects an open or a short to ground on one of the voltage supply circuits, DTC U2060 will be set.
- DTC U2062 (ECU Redundant Ground Circuit Open) - Anytime the ignition key is in the RUN position, if the ABS control module detects an open on one of the ground circuits, DTC U2062 will be set.

- ABS control module

Diagnostic Procedure

CAUTION: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connectors
