PINPOINT TEST 6: THE LIFTGATE LATCH RELEASE IS INOPERATIVE/DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY - HYBRID
Normal Operation
The smart junction box (SJB) does not release the liftgate latch unless the doors have been unlocked electronically.The SJB sends a voltage signal to the liftgate latch release switch through circuits (BR) and (LG). When the switch is activated, the signal is routed to ground through circuits (LG) and (B/GY). When the SJB detects a request from the liftgate release switch, the SJB provides voltage through circuit (BR/W) to the liftgate latch. Ground for the liftgate latch is provided through circuit (B/GY).The signal circuit (BR) and the ground circuit (B/GY), both change to (LG) in the applique jumper harness.
- DTC B2666 (Liftgate Release Switch Circuit Failure) - an on-demand DTC that sets when the SJB detects a short to ground from the liftgate release switch input circuit. This DTC may also set if the liftgate release switch is pressed for longer than 2 minutes.
- DTC B273A (Liftgate Release Output Circuit Shorted to Ground) - a continuous DTC that sets when the SJB detects a short to ground from the liftgate latch release output circuit.
- DTC B273B (Liftgate Release Output Circuit Open or Shorted to Battery Voltage) - an on-demand DTC that sets when the SJB detects an open or short to voltage from the liftgate latch release output circuit.

Diagnostic Procedure
CAUTION: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
