Pinpoint Test 4: The Speed Control Does Not Disengage When The Clutch is Applied
PINPOINT TEST 4: THE SPEED CONTROL DOES NOT DISENGAGE WHEN THE CLUTCH IS APPLIED
Normal Operation
The speed control actuator sends a voltage reference signal through circuit (G/W). When the clutch is applied, the clutch pedal position (CPP) switch closes and routes the signal to ground through circuit (Y/V). Ground is supplied by the PCM.
Possible Causes
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Obstructions to the accelerator pedal or linkage
- Speed control actuator
- CPP switch
- Speed control cable
- Accelerator cable
- PCM
Diagnostic Procedure
CAUTION: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
