PINPOINT TEST 5: A SINGLE SPEED CONTROL BUTTON IS INOPERATIVE

Normal Operation

The speed control actuator sends a signal through circuit (W) to the speed control switches, which passes through the clockspring. The return signal is sent back through the clockspring to circuit (G/BR). When 2 buttons are pressed simultaneously, the speed control system enters a stand-by mode.

Possible Causes
- Speed control switch
- Speed control actuator

Diagnostic Procedure

CAUTION: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
