Pinpoint Test 1: The Instrument Cluster Is Inoperative
PINPOINT TEST 1: THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IS INOPERATIVE
Normal Operation
With the ignition switch in the START or RUN position, the instrument cluster receives voltage from the smart junction box (SJB) through circuit (W/V). With the ignition switch in the RUN/ACC position, the instrument cluster receives voltage from the SJB through circuit CBP43 (G). With the ignition switch in the OFF position, the instrument cluster receives its keep-alive memory voltage from the SJB through circuit (Y/R). The instrument cluster logic ground is through circuit (B/G) and the bulb ground is through circuit (B/L).
Possible Causes
- Fuse(s)
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Instrument cluster
Diagnostic Procedure
CAUTION: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
CAUTION: Failure to disconnect the battery when instructed will result in false readings. See Battery Disconnect.
