PINPOINT TEST 28: DTC B2A20 - IGNITION STUCK IN START AND U2472 - UNEXPECTED IGNITION STATE

Normal Operation

With the ignition switch in the START or RUN position, the instrument cluster receives voltage from the smart junction box (SJB) through circuit (W/V). When the ignition switch is in the RUN or ACC position, voltage is received from the SJB through circuit (GY). With the ignition switch in the OFF position, the instrument cluster receives its keep-alive memory voltage from the SJB through circuit (Y/R).

- DTC U2472 (Unexpected Ignition State) - a continuous memory DTC that sets in the instrument cluster when it detects a discrepancy between the hardwired voltage input and the messaged ignition state inputs from the smart junction box (SJB) for greater than 5 seconds when the ignition switch is in the RUN position.
- DTC B2A20 (Ignition Stuck in START) - a continuous memory DTC that sets in the instrument cluster if the ignition START message sent from the SJB is stuck in the START position for greater than 15 seconds.

- Fuse(s)
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- SJB
- Instrument cluster

Diagnostic Procedure

CAUTION: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
