STEERING WHEEL
Removal and Installation
1. Turn the steering wheel to the straight-ahead position and turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Remove the driver air bag module. See Driver Air Bag Module.
3. Loosen the steering wheel bolt.
- To install, tighten to 40 N-m {4.1 kgf-m, 30 ft-lbf}.

CAUTION:Removing the steering wheel without using a puller may damage the column bearings.Using SST 205-116, loosen the steering wheel.
2. Remove and discard the steering wheel bolt.
3. Disconnect the steering wheel switches electrical connector from the clockspring.
4. Remove the steering wheel.
- Route the wires from the clockspring through the steering wheel.

NOTE:A new steering wheel bolt must be installed.To install, reverse the removal procedure.
