Differential Mount: Service and Repair

AXLE HOUSING BUSHING REMOVAL / INSTALLATION

Removal Note

NOTE:Axle tube bushing removal shown, axle housing bushing is a similar procedure.
1. Remove the front axle assembly; see .

2. Position the tube bushing removal or equivalent tools.
a. Position Bushing Remover/Replacer Cup SST (205-371) or equivalent.

b. Position Draw-bolt SST (205-374) or equivalent.

c. Thread the Bushing Remover Adapter SST (205-376) on the Draw-bolt SST (205-374).






3. Tighten the Draw-bolt SST (205-374) to remove the bushing.






Installation Note

NOTE:Axle tube bushing installation shown, axle housing bushing is a similar procedure.
1. Position the bushing and the tube bushing installation or equivalent tools.
a. Position the bushing.

b. Position Gauge Ring SST (204-206).

c. Position Bushing Replacer Collet SST (205-372).

d. Position Bushing Remover/Replacer Cup SST (205-371).

e. Position Draw bolt SST (205-374).

f. Thread Bushing Replacer Adapter SST (205-370) on the Draw bolt SST (205-374).






2. Tighten the Draw bolt SST (205-374) to install the bushing.

- Remove the tools.

3. Install the front axle assembly. See .

4. Check the fluid level and fill the axle to specification.

- Use axle lubricant meeting specification API Service Gl-5

5. Lower the vehicle.
