PINION SEAL REAR REMOVAL / INSTALLATION
Removal Note
1. Remove the rear companion flange. See Service and Repair.
2. Pry up on the metal flange of the rear pinion seal. Install gripping pliers and strike with a hammer until the seal is removed.
Installation Note
1. Lubricate the new rear pinion seal.
CAUTION:If the rear pinion seal becomes misaligned during installation, remove the seal and install a new seal.
2. Use pinion seal replacer SST to install the rear pinion seal.
3. Install the rear companion flange. See Service and Repair.
