Repair Procedure

REPAIR PROCEDURE





In order to separate the power circuit for power window switches (make power circuit on the front passenger side independent), attach the short cord and reduce a load for the fuse.








Contents of Short Cord Assembly





OUTLINE of Repair Procedure: Short cord destination (A), connect to W/R wire behind the fuse box (B) and pull out L/W wire from C-05 connector and connect the short cord (C).

1. Remove the battery negative terminal.





2. According to the Workshop Manual, remove the scuff plate (A), front side trim (B), dashboard under cover (C) and the glove box (D).





3. Remove the fuse box from the bracket.





4. Remove 30A fuse for Power windows.





5. Use a small screwdriver to release the terminal locking tab and pull out W/R wire that is connected to the power window fuse and remove the coating.





6. Connect the uncoated W/R wire and the short cord, and solder them.





7. Wrap a tape (A) around soldered portion of W/R wire and the short cord.





8. Insert the W/R wire terminal to the original position and attach the 30A fuse.





9. Put a seal of "P/W (25A)" on the fuse holder of the short cord.

NOTE:
Be sure to put the seal on the visible position.





10. Install the fuse box to the bracket.

11. Fix the short cord to the instrumental panel harness (IP harness) with the band.





12. Remove the C-05 connector joint (A).





13. Use a small screwdriver to release the terminal locking tab and pull L/W wire (A) out of the terminal (B).





14. Cut the terminal (arrow points to cut location) of L/W wire (A), fold back the cut portion and wrap a tape around it.





15. Insert the L/W wire terminal of the short cord to the C-05 connector where L/W wire should be inserted and fit it with the connector.





16. Hang the IP harness under the glove box downward.

17. Fix the short cord at four locations with bands (C).

NOTE:
Routing of the short cord (A) must be located in the opposite side of the clip tab (B) (front side of the vehicle).

18. Fix the IP harness to the body with the clip.





19. According to the Workshop Manual, install the glove box, dashboard under cover, front side trim and the scuff plate.





20. Open the glove box and attach the label on the fuse cover.





21. Remove the fuse box cover (A) in the engine room and change BTN fuse from 40A to 50A. After changing the 50A fuse, put a label (BTN 50A) on the fuse box cover.

22. Install the battery negative terminal.

23. Verify repair.
