Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair

AIR CLEANER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - 3.0L

1. Disconnect the mass air flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.

2. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the Air Cleaner (ACL) outlet pipe from the ACL housing.

- To install, tighten to 4 Nm {0.4 kgf-m, 35 in-lbf}.

3. Release the ACL housing.

4. Remove the 3 ACL assembly intake pipe pin-type retainers.

5. By lifting upwards on the ACL assembly, release the 4 ACL rubber grommets from the LH valve cover and intake manifold.

6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE:When installing the ACL assembly, install the housing on the 2 intake manifold studs first, then install on the 2 LH valve cover studs.
NOTE:No tools are needed to remove the ACL assembly. Removal should be carried out using hands only.
