PINPOINT TEST 41: THE READY INDICATOR IS NEVER/ALWAYS ON - HYBRID
Normal Operation
The purpose of the ready indicator is to inform the driver that the hybrid electric drivetrain is ready to operate. If the vehicle is not being driven and has the ignition key in the ON position with the internal combustion engine off, the ready indicator may be transitioned to the off state and requires that the ignition switch be cycled to the crank position to reset the indicator. The instrument cluster receives the electric drivetrain status from the PCM over the high speed controller area network (HS-CAN) communication bus. If the electric drivetrain status message is missing for less than 5 seconds, the electric drivetrain remains in the last indication mode (on or off). If the electric drivetrain status message is missing for more than 5 seconds, the instrument cluster sets DTC U0100 in continuous memory and defaults the ready indicator off.
NOTE:If DTC U0100 is set in the instrument cluster, other observable symptoms may be an inoperative speedometer, tachometer or odometer.
