Brake Backing Plate Removal/Installation

BRAKE BACKING PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Remove the rear wheel cylinder. See Removal and Replacement.

2. Remove the brake flexible hose bracket bolt.

- To install, tighten to 15 Nm {1.5 kgf-m, 133 in-lbf}.






3. Compress the parking brake cable conduit locking tabs and pull the parking brake cable assembly through the backing plate.

4. Remove the rear wheel hub. See - Wheel Bearing - All Wheel Drive (AWD) Removal/Installation or - Wheel Bearing - Front Wheel Drive (FWD) Removal/Installation.

5. Remove the 4 backing plate bolts and the backing plate.

- To install, tighten to 85 Nm {8.5 kgf-m, 63 ft-lbf}.

6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
