Rain Sensor: Service and Repair

RAIN SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

CAUTION:
- When the ignition switch is turned to the ON position after replacing the rain sensor with a new one, the windshield condition is verified and the initial setting is stored. Before installing a rain sensor, always remove water and dirt from the windshield.

NOTE:
- Perform the initial setting again in the following cases: Programming and Relearning

- The windshield is replaced and the rain sensor is reused.
- The auto wiper system operates incorrectly.

- The rain sensor is integrated with the auto light sensor as a single unit.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the rearview mirror cover. Vehicles With Auto Light/Wiper System

3. Disconnect the rain sensor connector.






4. Slide both tabs located on each side of the rain sensor in the direction of the arrow and remove the rain sensor.

5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

6. Perform the auto light/wiper control module configuration after replacing the rain sensor. Auto Light/Wiper Control Module Configuration

CAUTION:
- Perform the auto light/wiper control module configuration after replacing the rain sensor to assure that the auto light/wiper system operates correctly.
