Australian, European (L.H.D. U.K.) specs.

DTC P0404

EGR control circuit range/performance

DETECTION CONDITION
•  The PCM monitors the difference between target EGR valve lift and actual EGR valve lift under the programmed condition.
If the difference is more or less than the programmed criteria the PCM determines that there is a malfunction in the EGR control circuit.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  Vacuum hose malfunction
―  Loose
―  Misconnection
―  Damaged
―  Scratched
•  Solenoid valve malfunction (stuck)
―  EGR solenoid valve
―  EGR control solenoid valve
―  VBC solenoid valve
―  Intake shutter solenoid valve (full)
―  Intake shutter solenoid valve (half)
•  EGR valve connector or terminal malfunction
•  PCM connector or terminal malfunction
•  EGR valve position sensor malfunction
•  EGR valve malfunction
•  Vacuum pump malfunction
•  PCM malfunction
