REAR OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT [WL-C, WE-C]

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the dual-mass flywheel. (See CLUTCH UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [S15M-D, S15MX-D].)
3. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
4. Install in the reverse order of removal.
5. Inspect the engine oil level. (See ENGINE OIL LEVEL INSPECTION [WL-C, WE-C].)

Rear OIl Seal Removal Note
1. Cut the oil seal lip by using a razor knife.
2. Remove the oil seal by using a screwdriver protected with a rag.

Rear Oil Seal Installation Note
1. Apply soapy water along the perimeter of the new oil seal.
2. Push the oil seal slightly in by hand.
3. Tap the oil seal in evenly using the SST and a hammer.

4. To ensure that the oil seal is installed correctly, measure the distance between the end of the rear cover and the face of the rear oil seal.
