FUEL INJECTION PUMP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WL-3]

Caution

• After removing/installing the fuel injection pump, be sure to inspect the timing belt tension. If the belt tension is not inspected, the timing belt and the camshaft may become damaged. (See TIMING BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WLT-1, WLT-2].)

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Complete the “BEFORE REPAIR PROCEDURE”. (See BEFORE REPAIR PROCEDURE [WL-3].)

3. Remove the FICD solenoid valve bracket. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WL-3].)

4. Remove the air intake pipe. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WL-3].)

5. Set the No.1 cylinder to TDC.

6. Remove in the order indicated in the table.

7. Install in the reverse order of removal.

8. Complete the “AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE”. (See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE [WL-3].)

9. Inspect injection timing.

10. Check the timing belt tension. (See TIMING BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WLT-1, WLT-2].)

Fuel Injection Pump Pulley Removal Note

1. Removal the two fuel injection pump pulley mounting bolts.

2. Loosen the fuel injection pump pulley locknut.

3. Remove the pulley with the SST.

Fuel Hose Installation Note

1. Install the fuel main hose and fuel return hose as shown in the figure.
