INJECTION PUMP EPROM INSPECTION [WL-3]

Caution

•  Do not input voltage to B terminal in the injection pump EPROM.Doing so will cause a malfunction of the injection pump EPROM.

Note

•  Perform the following inspection only when directed.

Circuit Open/Short Inspection

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2.  Disconnect the PCM connector. (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WL-3].)

3.  Disconnect the injection pump connector B.

4.  Inspect for an open or short circuit in the following wiring harnesses.

•  If there is an open or short circuit, repair or replace wiring harnesses.

•  If the wiring harnesses are okay, but the injection pump EPROM is possibly malfunctioning, consult an authorized BOSCH parts distributor for repair.

Open circuit

•  Power Circuit (fuel injection pump connector B terminal D and PCM connector terminal 1A)

•  Signal Circuit (fuel injection pump connector B terminal E and PCM connector terminal 1S)

•  Signal Circuit (fuel injection pump connector B terminal F and PCM connector terminal 2E)

•  Signal Circuit (fuel injection pump connector B terminal G and PCM connector terminal 2L)

•  Ground circuit (fuel injection pump connector B terminal H and PCM connector terminal 1B)

Short circuit

•  Fuel injection pump connector B terminal D and PCM connector terminal 1A short to ground

•  Fuel injection pump connector B terminal E and PCM connector terminal 1S short to ground

•  Fuel injection pump connector B terminal E and PCM connector terminal 1S short to power supply

•  Fuel injection pump connector B terminal F and PCM connector terminal 2E short to ground

•  Fuel injection pump connector B terminal F and PCM connector terminal 2E short to power supply

•  Fuel injection pump connector B terminal G and PCM connector terminal 2L short to ground

•  Fuel injection pump connector B terminal G and PCM connector terminal 2L short to power supply

•  Fuel injection pump connector B terminal H and PCM connector terminal 1B short to power supply
