REAR DIFFERENTIAL OIL REPLACEMENT

F2, G6, WLT-1, WLT-2, WL-3, WL-C (4x2 (Except High Clearance Model))

1. Position the vehicle on level ground.

2. Remove the rear stabilizer. (Vehicles with rear stabilizer) (See REAR STABILIZER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WL-C, WE-C (Thailand Specs.)].)

3. Remove the oil-fill plug and the washer.

4. Remove the drain plug and drain the oil.

5. Install the drain plug with a new washer and tighten.

Tightening torque

39.2—53.9 N·m {4.00—5.49 kgf·m, 29.0—39.7 ft·lbf}

6. Add the oil through the oil plug hole to the rim of the oil-fill plug hole.

Rear differential oil [F2, G6, WLT-1, WLT-2, WL-3]

Type: API service GL-5 (STANDARD DIFFERENTIAL)

Type: API service GL-6 (LSD)

Viscosity: SAE 90

Oil capacity (approx. quantity): 1.30—1.50 L {1.38—1.58 US qt, 1.15—1.32 lmp qt} [4x2]

Oil capacity (approx. quantity): 1.75—1.95 L {1.85—2.06 US qt, 1.55—1.71 lmp qt} [4x4]

Rear differential oil [WL-C (4x2 (Except high clearance model)]

Type: API service GL-5

Viscosity: SAE 80W-90

Oil capacity (approx. quantity): 2.35—2.55 L {2.23—2.41 US qt, 1.96—2.12 lmp qt}

7. After adding the oil, perform the oil level inspection.

8. Install the oil-fill plug with a new washer and tighten.

Tightening torque

39.2—53.9 N·m {4.00—5.49 kgf·m, 29.0—39.7 ft·lbf}

9. Install the rear stabilizer. (Vehicles with rear stabilizer) (See REAR STABILIZER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WL-C, WE-C (Thailand Specs.)].)

WL-C, WE-C (4x2 (High Clearance Model), 4x4)

1. Verify the rear axle casing type.

3. Remove the oil-fill plug and the washer.

4. Remove the drain plug and drain the oil.

5. Install the drain plug with a new washer and tighten.

Tightening torque

39.2—53.9 N·m {4.00—5.49 kgf·m, 29.0—39.7 ft·lbf}

6. Add the oil through the oil plug hole to the rim of the oil-fill plug hole.

Rear differential oil [WL-C, WE-C (4x2 (High clearance model), 4x4)]

Type: API service GL-5

Viscosity: SAE 80W-90 [Except Russia]

Viscosity: SAE 75W-90, SAE 80W-90 [Russia]

7. Set the wheel stopper at the front wheels and using a jack raise the vehicle by 150 mm {5.91 in} at the rear right hand side. Then, for your safety, put safety stands (Rigid rack) under the frame or put a wooden block with a height of 150 mm {5.91 in} and a width of 200 × 400 mm {7.87 × 15.7 in} under the rear right tire.

8. Add 0.60 L {0.63 US qt, 0.53 lmp qt} or 0.65 L {0.69 US qt, 0.57 lmp qt} of differential oil through the oil-fill plug hole.

Caution

• Add only 0.60 L {0.63 US qt, 0.53 lmp qt} or 0.65 L {0.69 US qt, 0.57 lmp qt} of differential oil as insufficient or excessive oil filling may cause of other concerns.

9. Install the oil-fill plug with a new washer and tighten.

Tightening torque

39.2—53.9 N·m {4.00—5.49 kgf·m, 29.0—39.7 ft·lbf}

10. Install the rear stabilizer. (Vehicles with rear stabilizer) (See REAR STABILIZER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WL-C, WE-C (Thailand Specs.)].)

11. Lower the vehicle.

Type B

1. Position the vehicle on level ground.

2. Remove the oil-fill plug and the washer.

3. Remove the drain plug and drain the oil.

4. Install the drain plug with a new washer and tighten.

Tightening torque

39.2—53.9 N·m {4.00—5.49 kgf·m, 29.0—39.7 ft·lbf}

5. Add the oil through the oil plug hole to the rim of the oil-fill plug hole.

6. After adding the oil, perform the oil level inspection.
