VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR (VSS) INSPECTION [M15M-D]

1.  Remove the VSS. (See VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR (VSS) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [M15M-D].)

2.  Measure voltage between terminals of the VSS while the gear is turning.

Meter needle	Action
Moves slightly under 5 V	VSS is normal. Inspect wiring harness (Instrument cluster—VSS)
Does not move	Replace the VSS.
