Unstable steering

1. Unstable steering diagnostics

Improper tire combination, or unevenly worn tires

  • Replace the tires, or adjust the air pressure.

Improper wheel alignment

  • Inspect the wheel alignment.

Refer to "204.Driveline, Axle 17C.Functional Inspection wheel alignment check".

Loose power steering unit ball joint

  • Replace the power steering unit ball joint.

Worn or loose steering shaft universal joint section

  • Tighten the mounting bolt further.
  • Replace the steering shaft.

Broken or fatigued spring

  • Replace the spring.

Defective shock absorber

  • Replace the shock absorber.
