1. Headlight auto leveling control unit safety information
Caution
- The headlight auto leveling control unit learning should be performed on a flat surface.
- Perform inspection and adjustment of the headlights after performing the headlight auto leveling control unit learning.
- Perform the headlight auto leveling control unit learning in the same location as the headlight inspection.
- Make sure the battery charge state is good with the vehicle unloaded.
2. Headlight auto leveling control unit writing
1) Turn ON the ignition switch.
Note
- Check that the headlight automatic leveling warning light repeats two-time flashing.
2) Short-circuit the No. 4 and No. 12 pins of the DLC.

3) Turn the lighting switch from OFF to ON 3 times within 20 seconds.
When this operation is completed normally, the following operations can be confirmed.
- The indicator in the instrument panel cluster turns OFF.
- The headlight actuator goes from the upper limit to the bottom limit and then returns.
4) Remove the short circuit in the DLC.
5) Turn OFF the ignition switch.
6) Referring to the following, perform the headlight optical axis adjustment.
