The generator warning light informs the driver of a malfunction in the system.
The generator warning light illuminates when the ignition switch is turned ON. It turns OFF immediately after the engine is started. If it illuminates while the engine is running, there is a problem with the charging system.
1) Inspect the generator drive belt for looseness or breakage.
2) Inspect the generator harness connector for looseness.
3) Turn ON the ignition switch.

4) Verify that the generator warning light illuminates.
5) Perform self-diagnosis if the generator warning light does not illuminate.

6) Disconnect the harness connector from the generator.
7) Ground the IG-terminal on the harness connector side.
8) Verify that the generator warning light illuminates.
9) Perform self-diagnosis if the generator warning light does not illuminate.

10) Start the engine.
11) Verify that the generator warning light turns OFF.
12) If the generator warning light does not turn OFF, repair or replace the generator.
