DTC P058D[00] Battery Low Voltage (IBS (4JJ3 with DPD))

1. IBS system check

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(IBS (4JJ3 with DPD)) diagnostic system check-IBS".

2. Prioritized DTC check

1) Connect the scan tool.

2) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 30 seconds or more.

3) Start the engine.

4) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Is DTC P058B[00] or P065A[09] set at the same time?

Yes

Go to the applicable DTC diagnosis.

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(IBS (4JJ3 with DPD)) DTC P065A[09] Generator Fail".

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(IBS (4JJ3 with DPD)) DTC P058B[00] Current Detection".

No

=>Go to Charging system inspection.

3. Charging system inspection

1) Inspect the charging system. Is the result normal?

Refer to "1.Engine 1J.Electrical(4JJ3 with DPD) generator inspection".

Refer to "202.Engine 15D.Symptom(4JJ3 with DPD) defect of charging system".

Yes

=>Go to Battery sensor power supply circuit check.

No

Repair the charging system.

=>Go to Repair verification.

4. Battery sensor power supply circuit check

1) Turn OFF the ignition switch.

2) Disconnect the battery sensor harness connector (C49).

3) Connect a test lamp between the battery power supply circuit (pin 5 of C49) and the body ground. Does the test lamp illuminate?

Refer to "RHD Battery Sensor" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Yes

=>Go to Battery sensor harness connector inspection.

No

=>Go to Fuse inspection.

5. Fuse inspection

1) Inspect for a blown out IBS 5A fuse. Is the result normal?

Yes

=>Go to Inspection for open circuit in battery sensor power supply circuit.

No

Replace the fuse. If the fuse blows out again, repair the short to ground in the circuits relating to the IBS 5A fuse.

=>Go to Repair verification.

6. Inspection for open circuit in battery sensor power supply circuit

1) Inspect the battery power supply circuit between the battery and the battery sensor (pin 5 of C49) for an open circuit or high resistance. Is the result normal?

Refer to "RHD Battery Sensor" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Yes

=>Go to Battery sensor harness connector inspection.

No

Repair the circuit as necessary.

=>Go to Repair verification.

7. Battery sensor harness connector inspection

1) Inspect for poor connections at the battery sensor harness connector (pin 5 of C49). Is the connection status normal?

Refer to "RHD Battery Sensor" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Yes

=>Go to Battery sensor replacement.

No

Repair the connections as necessary.

=>Go to Repair verification.

8. Battery sensor replacement

Refer to "1.Engine 1J.Electrical(4JJ3 with DPD) battery sensor removal".

Refer to "1.Engine 1J.Electrical(4JJ3 with DPD) battery sensor installation".

Procedure completion

=>Go to Repair verification.

9. Repair verification

1) Clear the DTC with a scan tool.

2) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 30 seconds or more.

3) Start and idle the engine.

4) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool.
