DTC P1A30[04] Transfer Motor Actuator Unit Motor Malfunction (4WD models)

1. DTC P1A30[04] description

The transfer actuator is installed to the transfer and performs switching between two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, and between High and Low using one actuator. The transfer actuator consists of the following components.

  • ECU
  • Motor
  • position sensor

When the ECU with a built-in transfer actuator detects a malfunction in power supply, CAN communication, motor, or position sensor, it sends the diagnosis information to the TCCM. If the TCCM receives the signals of the shorted motor coil, motor coil open circuit, or Hall sensor malfunction, this DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC P1A30[04]

Condition for running the DTC

  • The battery voltage is 10 to 16 V.
  • The CAN2 is normal.

Condition for setting the DTC

The TCCM receives any of the following from the transfer actuator.

  • Shorted motor coil
  • Motor coil open circuit
  • Hall sensor malfunction

3. Action taken when DTC P1A30[04] sets

  • The TCCM illuminates the check 4WD warning light when the diagnostic runs and fails.
  • The current transfer position is retained.
  • The TCCM is reset after the ignition switch turns OFF.
