DTC P1A33[11] Transfer 4WD Switch Circuit High (4WD models)

1. DTC P1A33[11] description

The transfer actuator is installed to the transfer and performs switching between two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, and between High and Low using one actuator. The transfer motor position sensor is built into the transfer actuator. The 2-4 switch and neutral switch are installed to the transfer body. The TCCM recognizes the current transfer driving conditions based on the combinations of the signals from the transfer motor position sensor, 2-4 switch, and neutral switch. When the transfer actuator operation has been completed and the transfer motor position sensor input is 4H or 4L, if it is detected that the 2-4 switch is OFF, this DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC P1A33[11]

Condition for running the DTC

  • The battery voltage is 10 to 16 V.
  • Transfer actuator operation has been completed.

Condition for setting the DTC

  • The TCCM detects that 2-4 switch is OFF for 10 seconds when the transfer motor position is -15° or more and less than13°.

3. Action taken when DTC P1A33[11] sets

  • The TCCM illuminates the check 4WD warning light when the diagnostic runs and fails.
  • When the transfer actuator operation has been completed and the transfer motor position sensor status is 4H or 4L, the shift-on-the-fly actuator is forcibly driven to the four-wheel drive side.
  • The TCCM is reset after the ignition switch turns OFF.
