DTC P0965 (Flash Code 37) Pressure Control Solenoid B (SL2) Control Circuit Performance (AWR6B45)

1. DTC P0965 description

Clutch control solenoid (SL2) is installed on the valve body assembly and adjusts the C2 clutch control oil pressure. The TCM controls clutch control solenoid (SL2) based on the information of the vehicle speed, accelerator opening position, brake signals, etc. When the clutch control solenoid is activated, the TCM accumulates the difference between the required solenoid current and the actual solenoid current as a feedback error current. If the TCM detects an abnormal clutch control solenoid (SL2) feedback error current, the DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC P0965

Condition for running the DTC

  • The ignition switch is ON.
  • The battery voltage is 9.0 to 16.0 V.
  • DTCs P0966 and P0967 are not set.

Refer to "55.Transmission Control 5A.Troubleshooting(AWR6B45) DTC P0966 (Flash Code 37) Pressure Control Solenoid B (SL2) Control Circuit Low".

Refer to "55.Transmission Control 5A.Troubleshooting(AWR6B45) DTC P0967 (Flash Code 37) Pressure Control Solenoid B (SL2) Control Circuit High".

Condition for setting the DTC

  • The TCM detects an abnormal clutch control solenoid (SL2) feedback error current.

3. Action taken when DTC P0965 sets

  • The TCM flashes the check trans warning light. Refer to Action taken when DTC sets - Type A.

Refer to "55.Transmission Control 5A.Troubleshooting(AWR6B45) DTC type definitions".

  • The TCM inhibits the shift timing control.
  • The TCM inhibits the lock-up timing control.
  • The TCM inhibits the slip lock-up control.
  • The TCM inhibits the garage control.
  • The TCM inhibits the self-learning control.
  • The TCM inhibits the engine torque control.
  • The TCM inhibits the skip gear shift control.
  • If the DTC is set in the reverse gear, the gear is restricted to neutral or reverse.
  • If the DTC is set in the D range, the gear is restricted to 5th or reverse.

4. Condition for clearing DTC P0965

  • Refer to Condition for clearing the MIL, check trans warning light/DTC - Type A or Type B.

Refer to "55.Transmission Control 5A.Troubleshooting(AWR6B45) DTC type definitions".
