DTC U0131[00] Lost Communication With EPS (Information Module)

1. DTC U0131[00] description

The information module and the EPS motor control unit communicate information with each other using the CAN bus. The information module determines whether CAN messages are constantly flowing from the EPS motor control unit. If the information module cannot receive CAN messages from the EPS motor control unit, the DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC U0131[00]

Condition for running the DTC

  • The ignition switch is ON.
  • The ignition voltage is 10 V or more.

Condition for setting the DTC

  • The information module detects that CAN messages from the EPS motor control unit are not received for 5 seconds or more.
